5 Ways a Corporate Magician Can Engage Attendees

1. Tossing Out Very Lightweight Objects to Select Participants

One possibility is to toss a beach ball into the audience. Whoever it is closest to, comes up to the stage. This keeps everyone engaged because they're all wondering if they'll be the person selected.

There's a more elaborate version possible if multiple audience members are selected. This version also required the technology set-up to cue music. Imagine that the magician tosses multiple beach balls into the audience to bounce around among each other. Imagine that music is playing while they bounce the beach balls, and the audience has to stop when the music stops. Whoever has the beach balls when the music stops, are the audience members selected to join the corporate magician on stage.

2. Polling

A corporate magician can ask attendees to raise their hands to vote for decision. For example, the magician may ask how many attendees prefer a red envelope be used for the next demonstration. The the attendees can be asked to raise their hands if they want the orange envelope to be used in the next demonstration. If the majority of the attendees raise their hands to vote for the orange envelope, then the demonstration continues based on the audience's choice.

3. Everyone Writes

An audience can all be given a piece of paper and pencil. Then the audience chooses an idea to write down. The magician on stage may include information they wrote down in the parts that follows. This helps make the audience a direct part of the show.

4. Everyone Gets Their Phones Out

Another example is everyone in the audience getting out their cell phones (while still seated) and opening a website. For example, imagine that everyone is in a ballroom (e.g. Seminole Ballroom) at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City. Imagine everyone in the audience is asked to think of a random store on the boardwalk. Finally, imagine if the magician asked everyone to get out their cell phones and open a website page that shows an image of the boardwalk store. It would totally amaze everyone, but it would also allow everyone to directly participate from where they're sitting (by pullout their phones out).

5. Everyone Does the Same Mental Exercise

Imagine that an attendee comes up to the stage with the corporate magician. Now imagine that this attendee thinks of a word that the magician does not know. Next, imagine that everyone in the audience stares at a pencil on stage and thinks, "Rise! Rise! Rise!" And finally, imagine that the pencil rises up and writes a word that the attendee on stage thought of. Freaky, right?
